| Why Should We Dump Jeb ? |
This is the guy who wanted to be the education governor. So far, class sizes have not decreased and we are almost leading the nation in the student to teacher ratio - that means Florida has the distinction of having the MOST students per teacher of almost every other state in the nation. Nice going Jeb! He wants to push his Charter School initiative. So far, there is no evidence that Charter schools are doing better than public schools. All public schools take the FCAT. How about comparing their results to the private schools ? Can't - private schools don't take the FCAT. How convenient. Not only that but the educators at these private schools are not required to meet any criteria to prove they can teach. There is no standard for private school, no rigorous testing of the teachers. So, the schools can't prove they can do better and their teachers are not certified... Not only that but the curriculum isn't reviewed by any educational group - other than the school itself. So, what are they teaching ? Could be anything - on your tax dollars. By gutting the public school system of over $600 million from the state budget, Jeb has only made things worse. You can't improve a school system by cutting its budget. Teachers need to be paid well, schools need computers and we need to reduce class size. Jeb has made matters worse and continues to do so. We need to get rid of him before he screws things up worse than they are now. Here's the best part - let's say you are a religious extremist - for example, a muslim extremist bent on blowing up America. You could, if you fill out the proper papers, open up a private school that teaches the destruction of America. Best part of it - now you can receive tax dollars to help you fund the school. Pretty impressive, huh ? That's Jeb - screwing up Florida for the long term. Jeb Sucks. |
